Welcome to Gisa's "CPR Schreiber - Heavy Winter Route" route.
Route Info

Built along the northern shore of Lake Superior, the Canadian Pacific Railway's Nipigon and Heron Bay subdivisions cut through the Canadian Shield and see over 20 transcontinental trains a day as well as local industry trains. There are no farms or cities here. Just a few towns, the Transcanada highway, endless trees and the massive Lake Superior and all the tributaries big and small that feed it. The grades are heavy and the mainline single tracked, often winding and running along sharp rockfaces or through boundless forests. This is a prototypical recreation of about 40 kilometers (24 miles) of some of the trackage from both the Nipigon and Heron Bay subdivisions which connect at Schreiber Yard in the township of Schreiber, Northern Ontario, Canada. It is set during a heavy winter and DEMs, topographical maps, CANVEC vectors, Google Earth tiles and Google Earth itself were used whenever possible to make this as prototypical as possible within reason. A passing siding, a small oil transfer terminal and (a now defunct) pulp and paper mill are included as well. There are 3 portals and 2 staging tracks on each end for configuring daily operations. Schreiber yard will keep switching fans quite happy while those who like to drive will enjoy the operational challenges the mainline presents. Railfans will be able to find plenty of places to get shots from and should be grateful they can't feel the cold or walk through the deep snow! Included is a base session which has all the basics configured. Everything needed for this route can be downloaded from the DLS except for some CP signboards which can be downloaded here:

This was designed in '04 and tested in '04 and 2010 sp2. Frame rates are satisfactory even on modest systems although you are advised to tweak your draw distance based on your systems specs due to the sheer amount of trees.
See the forums for more information.
ENJOY! ^^
